Last week in Calpe...

This week capped off some great adventures here in Calpe.  The photo above shows me riding on the local club's annual #RideforSerge honoring the founder of the local bike cafe (Baguet), Serge Baguet, a former Belgian pro cyclist who passed away a few years ago.  This group (Fietsvrienden Calpe, or Cycling Friends Calpe in English) has been a fantastic introduction to riding here, and I'll be forever greatful to them given the friends I've made here and the places we've ridden.  Challenging climbs, spectacular vistas, and great company all along the way...

Here's some more photos from this week's riding (almost 300 miles worth!)...

In addition to a ton of riding, Norma & I have been getting in some beautiful walks as well.  We've been up onto some challenging mountain trails to see a local natural bridge- the Arcos de Els-Pretty special place!  Another favorite was a nearby beach called the Cala de Moraig.  It was formed by a very visible geologic fault line that makes for a very cool place, with caves and tide pools as well as a very enticing  bit of sand ...
So .... As our time in Calpe comes to a close, we're already looking at booking a place to return in 2027! :-). Until then, we'll be reporting back after our move up the coast about 30 minutes to another coastal town - Denia - Cheers!
