Last week in Calpe...

This week capped off some great adventures here in Calpe.  The photo above shows me riding on the local club's annual #RideforSerge honoring the founder of the local bike cafe (Baguet), Serge Baguet, a former Belgian pro cyclist who passed away a few years ago.  This group (Fietsvrienden Calpe, or Cycling Friends Calpe in English) has been a fantastic introduction to riding here, and I'll be forever greatful to them given the friends I've made here and the places we've ridden.  Challenging climbs, spectacular vistas, and great company all along the way... Here's some more photos from this week's riding (almost 300 miles worth!)... In addition to a ton of riding, Norma & I have been getting in some beautiful walks as well.  We've been up onto some challenging mountain trails to see a local natural bridge- the Arcos de Els- Pretty special place!  Ano...

Week 3 in Calpe

Everything has continued to go well here in Calpe.  We finished our second week here, and moved from our first apartment right on center of the beach, to a new one about a mile down the coast near the port and marina, at the base of the big rock that towers over Calpe.  Now we are about two blocks inland, but up on the 9th floor so we have quite the view out to the south over the ocean. Pretty nice for the sunsets!  It's also great for outdoor dining on our patio. Aside from eating and watching the sunset, we're both setting into pretty regular routines as Norma gets a good long daily walk in, and I'm riding a out 50ish miles every other morning with a nice group from the local cycling cafe.  That keeps us pretty busy most days!  We've also been regularly getting in a hike along one of the coastal trails, or up into the mountains.  The trail systems here are remarkably extensive, and we really enjoy it.  Here's a few...
